How long does it take to set up a merchant account?
Once your completed application and supporting documents are submitted, PAYETHOS typically activates new merchant accounts within 24-48 hours, subject to bank and underwriting approval. Integrations will take 3-5 days for completion.
Accounts requiring enhanced due diligence (e.g., high-volume, healthcare, or multi-location operations) may take longer depending on documentation review by our underwriting department.
Our onboarding is fully digital and managed through our secure platform to ensure compliance with all BSA/AML and PCI DSS 4.0.1 standards.
Are there any monthly fees?
PAYETHOS offers transparent, interchange-based pricing.
Certain value-added services – such as advanced reporting, chargeback automation, or enhanced risk monitoring – may include optional platform or data fees.
Every cost structure is disclosed in writing before activation. We do not charge hidden fees or add-on surcharges outside your signed merchant agreement.
Are you PCI DSS and HIPAA Compliant?
Yes. PAYETHOS is a PCI DSS v4.0.1–validated service provider, backed by a Qualified Security Assessor (0 Tolerance Security LLC) who issued a QSA-signed Attestation of Compliance confirming adherence to every applicable control under the latest PCI standards.
While PAYETHOS itself does not store, process, or transmit cardholder data, all payment activity flows securely through our PCI-certified partners, keeping sensitive information entirely within their validated cardholder-data environments.
For healthcare and related industries, PAYETHOS maintains HIPAA-aligned data-handling practices and supports integrations within HIPAA-compliant environments. Because no patient or payment data is ever stored or transmitted by PAYETHOS, and all transactions occur through encrypted, PCI-certified systems, our framework satisfies both PCI DSS and HIPAA security and privacy obligations.
